Another Handmade Beach Themed Greeting Card

Another Handmade Beach Themed Greeting Card

001 (4)

I updated my palm tree look by using the stem from a Marvy Luchida Large Flower Pot Craft Punchas the tree trunk.

I used the flower pot part of the punch to make the sand pail. Make a “doughnut” with graduated circle punches to make the handle. I used a EK Success Egg Punch (1/2”) and the handle from a Punch Bunch Basket Punch to make the shovel.

For the sand castle I again used the egg punch to make the doorway and windows. To make the towers I used a small tag punch, trimming the top of the tag and then using the egg punch to make the arrow slots. For the flag I cut down a Stampin’ Up Bitty Banner Punch out down.

 Thanks for taking a look!

Mini Sunglasses Punch Art

Chillin’ At The Beach

 Mini Sunglasses Punch Art

Here are the really cute mini sunglasses punch art I designed for my Stampin’ Up Owl Builder Punches that I decked out for the beach because what self-respecting owl would be seen dead at the beach NOT wearing some shades?

MATERIALS

  • 4 “D” block letter punches (1/2″)
  • 2 circle punches (1/4″)
  • 1 rectangle punch (1/2″)
  • Adhesive

DIRECTIONS

  1. Assemble punch outs needed.
  2. Glue two “D”s together so that there is no gap.  I used two different colors for emphasis.  Of course if your letter punches are solid you don’t need to do this.
  3. Glue the circle punches to the backs of the sunglasses.
  4. Glue the rectangle punch to the back of the sunglasses.
  5. After they dry your sunglasses are ready for use.

My Stampin’ Up Owl Builder Punches All Decked Out For Summer!

My Stampin’ Up Owl Builder Punches All Decked Out For Summer!

summer 1I admit to being a little obsessive about punching out cute little owls with my Stampin’ Up Owl Builder punch.  They’ve all come out cute but I just HAD to share my little owls in their summer garb.

I promise to share how I made their sunglasses (from 4 letter “D” punch outs) soon and I’ve already shared the beach ball punch art.  This one is made in the same way – only the heart and the circle punches I used were smaller.

Thanks for taking a look – let me know what you think.  And why not share your summer clad owls with me.

So Berry Sweet: Handmade Strawberry Greeting Card

strawberrySo Berry Sweet:  Handmade Strawberry Greeting Card

This card is so berry sweet and so berry simple to make for a super summer birthday card or just to drop a little note.

Punch art starts with simply breaking down the individual component parts a design and then selecting the paper punchers you already have on-hand to create that design.

As each piece is punched and assembled by hand these will not be the perfectly polished pieces you purchase ready made at a craft store.  Expect some charming (in my humble opinion) defects that make each piece totally unique.

 PUNCHES USED

  • Recollections 2 Inch Heart Punch
  • Recollections 1 Inch Daisy Punch
  • Recollections 1 Inch Square Punch
  • Martha Stewart 1 inch Heart Punch
  • Martha Stewart Rose Leaf Punch
  • Martha Stewart Bow Punch
  • Cassette Alphabet Punch Set
  • Stampin’ Up Build-a-Bird Punch
  • Punch Bunch Small Cherry Blossom Punch
  • Single Hole Punch

 INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start off by punching hearts from red cardstock.  I used two sizes of hearts as strawberries are all unique.
  2. Then round the point slightly either with a corner rounder or just with scissors.
  3. Next use a white paint pen or a toothpick dipped in white paint to add some seeds to the berries.
  4. I used the daisy punch cut to fit for the cap of the strawberries.  I punched stems for the berries and vines with the Stampin’ Up Bird Punch.
  5. The cherry blossom punch makes the perfect berry blossoms.  To add a little definition to project I glued two punches together for the blossoms and for the centers.
  6. The alphabet set I have punches letters that are just too small for my tastes so I punch the reverse punch out with a small square punch.   Then so the letters “pop” I glue a contrasting square behind the letter reverse punch.  On this card I attached the back piece in a skewed manner.
  7. Lastly I added a white bow because I think that the white helps bring out the red and green.

Good luck with your card and if you make one of your own come back by and leave me a link to it.  I’d love to see your own personal creation!
